Egoboo is a fantasy RPG similar to the classic Zelda and other games in the Rogue genre. It is set in the Kingdom of Bishopia, where the Lord Bishop has been kidnapped by the Dracolich, and your mission is obviously to rescue him.
In Egoboo you must enter some dark dungeons, and go face to face with evil creatures who try to stop you completing your mission. In these dungeons you need to find the five artefacts called Sporks of Yore, which help you open paths and find the Lord Bishop.
Before starting games in Egoboo you must choose your character from a selection: adventurer, sorcerer, elf, etc. To fight against monsters, wizards and ferocious creatures that are hiding in every corner, you will find various types of weapons: armour, shields, spells, amulets, spellbooks, etc.
Egoboo uses 3D graphics (OpenGL and SDL) generated in real time. Both the characters and the maps are well done, and the special effects are spectacular. You also have a multiplayer mode, and can use diverse peripherals (keyboard, joystick and mouse).
NOTE: If you want to run Egoboo in Windows Vista, you must mark in the file properties the compatibility with Windows 98.
